Henry's Anniversary

This weekend marked Henry's one year anniversary at our house.  Despite the new arrival of a brother that he does not really get along with, I feel it has been a great first year.  He really enjoyed his cake (tuna and treats) as you can tell from the pictures!

Painting

Just an update that we have finished the main painting of our house and now are progressing on finishing the trim.  We will post some pictures when it is completed as we are too exhausted after a long weekend of painting!

Lesley beach trip!

Here's a picture from our fun weekend at the beach with our grad school buddies. It was Leo's first trip, with us, to the beach! He loved every second of it. :0)

No more RED!

Hallelujah! The red room has been transformed.
As most of you know, when we moved in to our house (2 years ago, now) the previous owners had just finished painting six coats of fire engine red paint in their sons bedroom. Yikes, it was HORRIBLE and I have to say that I just wanted it to go away! I knew that it would be a lot of work to re-do that room so when we moved in we painted every single wall except for that bedroom! We have been using that room as an office and I was tired of paying bills with my sunglasses on... so I got BUSY! It only took two super thick coats of spendy primer and then two coats of paint. It looks fabulous! It's a peaceful "brown bag" color now that is warm and very "home office" looking. It's lovely!
In other news, I am officially ready to be a stay-at-home dog mom! I don't think I'm going to want to go back to work in August. This has been such a nice and relaxing break. I am getting a lot done and really loving the fact that I don't have to be up at 5:00 a.m.!

Fun Filled Weekend!

Yeah!!
We spent this weekend enjoying a little down time while camping at Stub Stewart. It was a very warm and relaxing time.
We now want a motor home more than ever as every site at Stub has full hookup. We looked like the poor kids camping out in a tent! I'm afraid we'd never be home in the summer with a motor home, though. Randy was even thinking of ways that we could take Henry with us so that he wouldn't be home alone while Leo is off having the time of his life...

Randy is back to work this morning and I am cherishing the fact that I'm done with summer school! I slept in (which Leo did as well) and did a little "sale preview" shopping at Nordstrom today, which would make it a  perfect "10" day on my scale!

Swimming

Randy bought Leo a swimming pool this spring and he is breaking it in! He LOVES to splash and swim around in his pool. He is such a goof. He will run around the pool in circles, which then creates splashes that he chases...fun, fun, fun!

Leo was even invited to a pool party at our neighbors. Jake and Lea's dog, Yukon has a doggie pool too (see we're not the only crazy people out there..). They are both spoiled rotten pooches that love their play dates!

Camping!

We had a wonderful time camping at Silver Creek Falls last weekend. It was hot, hot, hot though! At one point during nap time in the shade, Randy announced that his eyeballs were sweating. We couldn't have that, so the two of us "roughed" it down into the valley (in the wonderful A/C filled SUV) into Silverton to pick up some ice cream!

It was Leo's first camping trip. (I'm sure you were all wondering where the cat and dog update would be... can't have a blog post without them!) He absolutely LOVED camping, except that the birds taunted him all day long. If his happiness was measured by the amount of dirt and crap stuck to his fur after the weekend then he was in heaven! He was such a dirty mess!
